Description
Snap-8 10mg from Polaris Peptides is 10mg of Snap-8 in a sealed glass vial. Snap-8 is a cosmetic octapeptide. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is Snap-8?
SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is an eight-amino-acid peptide that extends argireline by two amino acids. Like argireline, it mimics the end of SNAP-25, a protein needed to release acetylcholine at nerve endings.
It’s used in cosmetic research on expression lines.
How Snap-8 works
SNAP-8 works the same way as argireline: it mimics the N-terminal end of SNAP-25 and competes for a spot in the SNARE complex that releases acetylcholine.
The two extra amino acids are meant to make that competition more effective. Less acetylcholine release means weaker muscle contraction in the models used.

Snap-8 research
The manufacturer reports reduced wrinkle depth in small volunteer studies and stronger activity than argireline in cell assays.

Snap-8 compared with similar compounds
Labs choosing Snap-8 10mg usually weigh it against a few close relatives. Snap-8 is an eight-amino-acid cosmetic peptide studied for expression lines, while:
- GHK is the copper-free form of GHK, for studies that control the metal
- Glutathione is the cell’s main antioxidant tripeptide
These cover different lines of skin research: copper peptide repair, expression lines and oxidative stress. See them all on our skin and tanning peptides page.
How Snap-8 10mg is tested
Every batch of Snap-8 10mg is checked by HPLC-MS. HPLC separates the sample and measures how much of it is the target compound, and mass spectrometry confirms the molecular weight, so one test covers both purity and identity. Snap-8 10mg tests at over 99% purity.
The vials are vacuum-sealed once the powder is freeze-dried. Moisture and oxygen are the two things that break down dry peptide fastest, and the seal keeps both out.
Keep a record of the batch number on each label. Matching results to batches is the simplest way to rule out the material when an experiment doesn’t behave.
Reconstituting Snap-8 10mg
Here’s the math for 10mg of powder:
- 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.
Use sterile bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
Snap-8 10mg storage and shelf life
Store sealed vials of Snap-8 10mg in the freezer at -20°C, out of direct light. Mixed solution goes in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and should be used within 28 days.
Leave sealed vials sealed until you need them. Dry powder in a closed vial lasts far longer than solution, so there’s no reason to mix more than one at a time.
Buy Snap-8 10mg in bulk
Pick a quantity from the menu above the cart button. The more vials you order, the lower the price of each one:
- 1 vial: $40.00
- 2 vials: $72.00, about $36.00 per vial (save 10%)
- 5 vials: $170.00, about $34.00 per vial (save 15%)
- 10 vials: $308.00, about $30.80 per vial (save 23%)
- 15 vials: $444.00, about $29.60 per vial (save 26%)
- 20 vials: $560.00, about $28.00 per vial (save 30%)
At 20 vials you save 30% compared with buying singles. Every vial in a pack is the same 10mg product, from the same stock.
Ordering Snap-8 10mg for a full study
Work out the total amount before you order. Add up what each arm of the study uses across every time point, then divide by 10mg. Round up by one vial so a spoiled sample or a repeat run doesn’t stall the project.
Only reconstitute what you’ll use in the next few weeks. Sealed vials stay stable in the freezer, while a mixed vial should be finished within 28 days.
